Young Singers (Not this year, but hopefully coming back full force for season 2022-2023!)
One of the newest additions to the Alabama Choir School family, the Young Singers is a beginner's music class for Kindergarten and first grade boys and girls that meets weekly on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:15 PM. This group of energetic youngsters receive our very best staff members in a group setting to help them develop age-appropriate vocal technique, basic music skills, beginning music theory, and music history. They are taught and conducted by Alex Diaz, with assistance from our own Ms. Mary Kate McLaurine, and Dr. Steven Taranto. This beginning choir also performs each semester with all five ACS choirs in our big winter and spring concerts at the University of Alabama School of Music's beautiful Moody Concert Hall in December and May. Due to COVID-19, we are postponing the Young Singers music class for the season 2020-2021, but we hope to add them back to the mix again for the season 2022-2023.
